Job Summary:

The Software Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales team to drive the growth of software sales, develop and execute sales strategies, and manage relationships with key clients. This role involves setting sales targets, managing the sales process, and ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve software sales targets and revenue growth.
    • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and strategies.
    • Collaborate with senior management to set sales goals and objectives.
  2. Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve their targets and professional growth.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance the team’s skills.
    • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and development of new sales team members.
  3. Sales Execution:

    • Oversee the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, lead generation, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
    • Ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales cycle.
  4. Market and Competitive Analysis:

    • Monitor and analyze competitors’ activities, industry trends, and market dynamics.
    • Adjust sales strategies and tactics based on market conditions and competitive landscape.
    • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing campaigns and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with product management and development teams to stay informed about product updates and enhancements.
    • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to address any issues or concerns.
  6. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base.
    • Resolve client issues and escalate concerns as necessary to ensure timely and effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in software sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
